Howdy from central Texas

Hi all, I've been playing electric guitar for over 20 years and I got a BS in electrical engineering roughly 10 years ago. I currently live in central Texas working as a digital signal processing engineer. I've finally gotten bit by the tube amp bug thanks to a friend who builds amps, and I've read a decent chunk of Merlin Blencowe's book on preamp design. Learning about tube circuits is a lot of fun, it's a more tangible hobby than the bulk of my EE experience touches these days. It has the added benefit of helping to explain much of my undergraduate coursework on solid state amplifier design, which I haven't thought about since I took a course on transistors - I wish I had known about tube amp topologies and layouts a decade ago, it would have made those classes much easier to wrap my head around.

I'm excited to become a more experienced builder thanks to the kindness of the vets here, and I aspire to contribute knowledge and repay that kindness to this community as I learn from my mistakes.
