Fimosound 385 conversion wanted for pay, anyone interested
« on: January 30, 2024, 05:05:26 pm »
Hi all

I'm new to the board and recently acquired what appears to be a bone-stock Filmosound 385 that I would like to have converted to a guitar amp.

I am not looking for dramatic changes to the original circuit, though tremolo would be an awesome addition.  I would like to have all the electrolytics replaced and any drifting components replaced.

Is anyone interested and available to undertake such a project for reasonable compensation for your time?

Please reply here and/or PM me.

Thanks!

Carl Jasper

Can you please provide a couple of high resolution pics of the underside, showing all the amp's components and circuitry?

I rebuilt a Filmosound 179 a couple of years back, but working on it was tough because the chassis is extremely crowded and tight.  I'd like to see how crowded this model is.

How do you envision this will be used?  What sorts of music?  Rock, jazz, country, blues?

I might maybe be willing to do this, we'd have to discuss details.

On further thought, I probably shouldn't commit to anything right now.. my health is really unreliable atm. But I do know an excellent tech who might be willing - I'll PM his details.

Tremolo is a possibility, as there are more gain stages than probably needed for a git amp. Plus, the 3rd 6V6 isn't needed - it acts as an oscillator in the original app.

Thanks fir responding!  I believei I've found someone to take care of this for me.  I'll try to post something once it's done in case anyone is interested in the results.
