What type of pickup is this?

This is one of the pair of split single-coil(?) pickups from a 2005 Squier affinity P-bass. I have no reason to suspect they are not original.

The thick black part is a block of foam. The gray, mottled part sandwiched beneath the foam seems to be a fiber / composite material. It does attract steel, but I can't tell if it's magnetic itself or just contains magnets.

ETA: I'm thinking the gray part is possibly the bobbin? I guess I'd need to cut off the foam to really know, but I'm not sure how I'd reattach it properly.

Are these ceramic or Alnico? Can you tell?

Decided to partially peel back the foam block, and here's what I found.

Looks like to me that's your typical double bar Ceramic magnet pickup. On Alnico pickups the magnets are the pole piece slugs. On ceramics the slugs are steel and the magnetism is transferred from the two bar magnets through the slugs.

Plate - many humbucker pups have alnico bar magnets.  For instance the original PAFs.
