Sans amp TECH 21 straight into power amp ?

Hi, I am wondering if I could swap the preamp of a tube amp for a sans amp tech21 guitar pedal.
Impedance wise, I am not sure. Maybe this circuit would need a buffer before being connected to the PI of a PP amplifier, like 1 half of a 12a...7

Do you mean that I could connect the output of the pedal right onto the signal input of the PI ?

According to the tech21 website, you could connect directly to the "Pwr Amp In" jack on the linked schematic. Probably connect to the Fx return jack on most any amp.

Tried a HOT CAKE distortion pedal  (new zeland ) straight into the power section of a 50W pp amplifier. Sounds good but lacking of power.
I haven't bought a tech 21 yet because I'd prefer build a 6 x 12ax7 preamp instead of putting 300 bucks in a ss pedal. Anyway, I don't think the tech21 will yield more power than any other 9V pedal.

Tech 21 Sansamp is a whole line of devices. They are designed to provide enough drive signal to drive a power amp, unlike your Hot Cake pedal.
