Replace zener diode with a voltage regulator? Fender Performer 650

Is it posible to replace a zener diode (1N5353B - 16V) with a voltage regulator? Is there any other option?

Today I got this Fender Performer 650 with a bad 1n5353 and you can't find one in my country, I have to order overseas, seat and wait. The problem is that the owner needs the amp for this weekend.
I want to help him to save some money and not rent another amplifier.

You can put zeners in series to get 16v. You could do two or three. For example one 10V zener in series with a 6V zener will regulate at 16V. The 1N5353B is a five watt zener so you must use five watt replacements.

Thank you very much. I have ordered a bunch of 1n5353b. I went to all the stores in my city, they only sell 1/5w zeners, also asked in stores from another city, no results. 😔
Now wait like a month or so

Easier to replace ( and cheaper ) to buy new zener than a regulator
