Bedrock Royale Reverb
« on: June 30, 2024, 06:51:18 pm »
Here’s a schematic of a rare 90’s amp by Bedrock, the Royale Reverb. A while back I bought a leftover chassis for the amp (empty) and had to hunt for the schematics. I found bits and pieces and then cobbled together the attached. I had to guess at a few values, mainly a few of the caps, inc the bright cap. I built it and it sounds great. Full and throaty, very splashy reverb, and versatile. At nearly maxed volumes, I sometimes get what sounds like blocking distortion, but it’s not horrible and adds a little character.

I worked at a music store in the late 80's - early 90's We added Bedrock to our lineup.
Plugged into a 212 100w combo and was blown away! Too bad they never really caught on.

With V2b unused a switchable boost circuit could be added for dirt cheap.
The Bedrocks always had great tone. They just weren't marketed all that well.
Their 100w 212 combo could eat a JCM 800 stack for lunch! They went to 11!  :worthy1: :l2: :worthy1:
