Well despite Ike giving everyone a heads up, the Military Industrial complex is in full swing making sure there are always wars so they can sell their wares.

"I like Ike." I still have that campaign button from my parents. So much to be learned from that address - back from a time when the two parties were reasonable cooperators on improving the country. Compare that to where we are now. Ever see the South Park election episode where Kenny refuses to pick between Total Deuce and Shit Sandwich?

we all "heard" the
"military Industrial complex"
what most missed (~~9:50)
"Technological industrial complex"

couple hours ago was listening to Glen Beck as I drove to the diner for lunch, talking to someone that is trying to point out "Technology's influence"
I'll have to hunt up the guys name,
his belief, "Google is now capable of swaying between 6.5 to 20 million votes in a major election"
He believes Technocrats of the world, now hold more "sway" over the average person than any Government or policy.
his closing remarks were; "We all know Eisenhower's farewell speech warning of the Military industrial complex, but most missed his warning about the rise of technology"
and what do I find when I pop in here.....there are no coincidences  :icon_biggrin:

I'm thinking that one of the side benefits of tube technology is that all that stuff was/is too heavy to carry around everywhere we go. "Johnny, no you cannot bring that shortwave radio into the classroom." My nosepicker relatives are all hopelessly attached to their phones and smart watches.

The COO sent out a memo to Engineering in '10 to upgrade your laptops n phones, get anything you want, keep receipts n submit to CFO
we had a meeting couple weeks later, 4 of us, three are all geeking over their gear, COO asks what phone I got, I pulled it from my pocket, slid it fast enough he missed it, it bounced off the wall, he picked it up, opened my flip-phone, seen it was working fine, looked at me, I replied "I work in the field, the real world, now slid you phone like that"  :icon_biggrin:

everyone else had 17-19" MacBook's or equivalent laptops, I showed them my ASUS Eee note-pad, that I had "maxed out", overclocked and striped down to the bone
Told the Boss it's like being a double E with extra Sause, it out performed 2 of the 3 "tanks" on an internet "performance" page

Thanks Doug for posting that video. Haven't seen it before. My respect for Ike is now more than it ever had been. Also it makes me
realize what a great gulf there is between the quality of leadership we had then and what we have now in the WH. Incomparable!
On the right track now<><

The military industrial complex is huge now compared to Ike's time
His warnings about what can happen came true

I saw an interview with general Flynn yesterday
This guy is a legit patriot and on the peoples side

I book marked his documentary video and have to watch it after seeing him speak
