Go West Young Man instrumental
« on: August 20, 2024, 12:18:27 pm »
I wrote this tune with a spaghetti western feeling in mind
It has a galloping beat

It's done on my Jazz-O-Caster guitar
I also used a a Electro Harmonix C9 Organ pedal

It sounds like it could be background music for a film or video

I'd expect to see Clint Eastwood riding into the sunset with that tune.  Complete with a cigar in his mouth wearing a Mexican serape.   :icon_biggrin:  GREAT job on it!

Thanks for sharing!   Jeff

Cool tune..   lots of cowboy twang..

Note instrumental was mispelled so I corrected it - just seeing if my new powers would allow me to do that..   :icon_biggrin:

I watch a lot of old western movies. In the late 60's after "Fist Full of Dollars" all the western movies were trying to copy that feel and style ofthose Clint Spaghetti movies. I see a lot of those and some of them are pretty good. So your instrumental captures that feel very good. IfI would add anything to it, it would be some random whip cracks and cowboy yelps here and there. Very good sound and picking
On the right track now<><

I tried adding a guiro when I was recording but could not find anything I liked

A Bull whip sound at the start and end might be cool

That's some cool Bull Whip sounds! Hard to say which one would work best. You would almost need to demo them in the mix to determine.

I like the third one down from the top
But you have to sign up to download it.
I don't want to do that.
I'll find a free one somewhere

Yeah, that would be a good one because it got the per-whosh sound before the "Pop"

I watch the "Quick and the Dead" last night staring Sam Elliot. Pretty good even though I've seen several times already:>)

It was the best re-run of all the other re-runs running
