 Doug........order emergency !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I emailed yoiu to, but wanted to post also to make sure you get this before it's too late. i ordered the 1/8" epoxy board yesterday along with some tube sockets and eyelets. I think i accidentally ordered the short eyelets instead of the long ones for the 1/8" board. Can you please change that to the long ones if you haven't shipped it already? Order#335741942

thanks,-Dale

Dale, it's too late to do anything as soon as you hit the "Place order" button. This is why I give the shopper several chances to review the order before they hit the "Place order" button.

And I have a note not to hit the place order button unless your order is complete because it's just about impossible to add parts to an order.

By the time any emails are exchanged I have already picked and shipped the order.

If you email me with your full name I will send you a copy of the order that you created on line.

It's always a good idea to print a copy of your order confirmation screen at the time you complete your order.

 dazco6550,

we all have been there brother: Doug ships so fast that unless you follow your order with an email, its out the door before you can get an order changed.

On occasion, I accidently order extra parts for my next build .

Daz, go to the home page, click on the returning parts link and follow the intructions.
----------------------------------------------------------
Mrr3000gt, sending an email after an order does not work either. Orders come to me from the server on a secure direct pipeline. I stay on top of the order pipeline. Orders take priority and are handled immediately.

I do not check customer emails untill all my work is done. It may be an hour or mare after an order is submitted before I see a customers email.

I have a note on the shopping cart: DO press the place order button unless your order is complete.
By the time any emails are exchanged, your order is already done and gone.

Even so, I get people every day wanting to add parts to their orders. Not sure how else I can explain this on my shopping cart.

Don't forget that anytime you need parts that only add up to a few bucks, it a good time to get some "knife, fork, and spoon" type parts.

Anyone who ever intends work on tube amps will always need:

100K plate resistors,
220K resistors,
1Meg resistors,
1500 ohm and 820 ohm cathode resistors,
470 ohm 3 watt and 1K 5 watt screen resistors,
1 ohm 2 watt bias checking resistors,
22uF 50V cathode bypass caps,
.1uF, .022uF, .0022uF and .001uF 600v signal caps,
and fuses.
These parts are essential and the don't weigh enough to increase shipping costs, so tack them to your order when you just need a couple of odds and ends.

One of the nice features is that your shopping cart is stored on your computer. It holds the order for a number of days if you don't place the order. It's a good idea to select your items right away, then wait a day... sort of mull it over, before you place the order. I hate it when I've forgotten something and then end up with another shipping charge for one or two small items.

Well, i recieved the order today. I never thought i'd be happy that the merchant made a mistake on my order. But you sent turrets instead of eyelets, and they DO fit the board. It even says "eyelet short" on the invoice, so it was indeed a mistake. Lucky 4 u i won't call ya on it because it's a good kinda mistake. We both #%@'d up. I guess 2 wrongs sometimes DO make a right !

 Ordering parts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a "no-return" policy when buying and ordering parts because it's useful to have extra stuff laying around for emergencies. I may order several of inexpensive items and sometimes find I already have most of the parts for the next project.

Seems you didn't get what you want but you got what you need!

yep. One thing i don't understand tho is why everyone here seems to like turrets better. I did my board last nite and i find with the turrets the components are suspended off the board and it seems flimsy. One thing i learned from many years of gigging is that transporting an amp regularly can cause any solid core wire such as component leads to eventually crack if they aren't solidly monted so that vibration can't move them. I'm probably gonna have to silicone the components down. With eyelets the components would be forced against the board by the down angle of the leads to the flush mount eyelets.

 Silicone
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes unless it's just your home practice amp, glue the larger caps to the board and each other with silicone. Buy silicone in calking tubes and you will get more for your money than buying the smaller tubes.

  Re: Silicone
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Geez man, don't use that silicon crap. It's not even an issue or a problem. These things were used on military circuits.

Do you think we all would continue to use turrets if this was a problem. I have seen amps 40 years old that did not have a problem.
--------------------------------------------------------
Ken, you are right, it is always a good idea to have a few extra bits on hand.

I see customers ordering the exact number of lugs, eyelets, nuts, bolts, etc all the time.

If you screw up just one lug or drop a part and loose it, you have had a bad day.

Always get a few extra pieces when assembling an amp project.

If the parts list calls for 100 lugs, order 105 to be safe.

I guess you just need to know how to solder, that way you dont have to worry stuff falling off your board.

We use turret boards in the reactor control circuits on nuclear powered submarines that are depth charge tested. There is a 42 year old boat in Charleston still making steam. I would say that is durable.

I probably soldered for the first time when you were in diapers. Apparently you have a juvinile mentality that takes pleasure in insulting people concerning things you know absolutly nothing about in regards to them. Grow the #$%& up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 whoa,

Sorry man, I sounds like I hit a nerve. I didnt mean to offend you, I was just making a general statement. Now after rereading it I see that it was a poor wording on my part. What I meant;

Turrets and components used w/good joints have a history of not failing, this is contrary to pcb that seem to fail when either you try to switch components or place stress
