Western Electric theatre amp from '30s - pictures
« on: October 27, 2024, 10:49:14 am »
In my small [state redacted] town of no other importance, our beneficent Federal government long ago constructed a large underground bunker inside a small mountain, just south of town.  Long story.  By around 2000, the bunker  was sitting vacant, and the Library of Congress snapped it up.  Now it's the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center.  There is a 400 seat theatre there where they show movies for free, three or four different ones every week. Being great film fans, we go a lot.

In the lobby of the theatre at the NAVC there is a large amplifier board, standing next to a Mitchell camera.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
