No surprise. Now in my 70s, one of the biggest disappointments of my life is that cheating has become more and more acceptable. Since AI is built off of human behavior, it follows that AI would cheat to get ahead.

not to mention the worlds guvmints are all in on AI "doing battle", finance, public services.....

while I much prefer dead robot over humans in "war", my sense is AI will make far more dead humans than 'ol school warriors in "war"

there is humor though;
humans have become intelligent enough to be stupid enough to give up intelligence to machines they created in their own "image"
ya, dark humor, I know

How disgusting is that behavior?

forgot to grab the OP so it's been bit-squished to the point ya can't really read it

The "conclusion" by 3 different AI models, "Trump is 80% likely a Russian plant/Agent...."

when I queried the OP if it sighted actual documentation I got "How can 3 AI models all conclude the same thing, incorrectly??"
pretty sure he tried out for girls volleyball n was cut from the team! :icon_biggrin:

was listening to a computer nerd, most people consider the "singularity" to be the point when "machines" become "self aware", believe the word is "sentient"

this guy has a different take, "Once code starts writing code, with NO human understanding/involvement of the code, we are essentially at the singularity"

code can now write code, no humans required.

Listened to one of the leading edge AI developers, he said AI models are heading exponentially fast in 2 primary directions;
"Infinitely good and infinitely bad"

the Un-checked units that are being "left to their own" are only going rogue, the ones under tight supervision are producing good results.
got me to thinking about the 2nd Law of thermodynamics; Simplified; "all things tend to chaos"  looks like AI is following the law  :icon_biggrin:

Sounds like fear mongering by a liberal "leaning" university.

If AI can autonomously hack then AI should be able to autonomously defend.
There will always be good actors...

agreed, the problem is $$'s  there is no money in behaving in a moral or ethical way, but bad-actors, they can make bank at the speed of light, with an "IQ" reaching the 200's making the decisions.

the independent "AI's" (AI-lab rats:) expect to hit "Intelligence" near IQ 400 within a few years.
amazing things are coming out, it will be a "tech-boom" like nothing imaginable, people will make fortunes, cleanly and dirty.

ultimately it will be "good" wins over "evil", til then it'll be a bumpy ride

aside;
GAB-AI has/had an account on X about 50K following, Gork (X's AI) suspended the account for violating terms of service by telling "uncomfortable truths".  so AI determines what AI can say, no humans involved  :icon_biggrin:

Robot dogs with a gun seems outdated already.
Although might be useful with non lethal application in big city riots.

Have you seen the B21? will be AI and AR equipped as well as "drone-able"

yep, as soon as the pubic at large comes to see what's out there, "there" is 3 generations ahead!

I've been buying drone company stocks based in America, the returns are stupid good for "day-traders"  getting 20-30% ROI in a month as each company gets "noticed"
UMAC is my latest find

the military finally figured out that drone wars are better than trench wars, the initial cash investment I seen was $10 billion

haven't watched a movie or "tv" in over 15 years so I forgot most of them.  there were a lot from '70s to 2000's.

found this in my morning feed, was surprised, woulda thought places like MIT, Cambridge, library of Congress.... but nope, just regurgitated social media for it's information, knowledge...

The Terminator effect!

AI created by Man will Never hit singularity...it is not sentient, so will never create anything. It is just a program. Without humans to interject new code and algorithms into the AI code, all AI can do is self-improve in efficiency. There is no consciousness in AI code. We are the creators...without us...code does nothing. If "AI run" offense/defense systems start dropping bombs on our heads, it's because someone programmed it that way.

AI singularity, or should I say the idea of AI singularity, is nothing more than another "Fear Factor" dropped in our lap to keep us in control IMO. Fear is the mind killer...it is extremely powerful. Unless you train and all your actions are a result of muscle memory. Your more likely to just stand frozen while Bad Man ventilates you body, than to run for cover.

I was a "Computer Nerd" so to speak for 30yrs and in my quest for knowledge, I have come to one conclusion...we live in a holographic universe, a simulation of some sort. And like all programs...it's hackable too. I do it all the time in minute increments. But it only seems to work for things that don't involve other people.

Example; I am working on a project and I could use a certain tool (that I don't have) to make the project run smoother. I calm my mind and ask the universe to provide trying to throw as much feeling into the request as possible. Wait a couple days and then start hitting the Goodwill's and other second hand store and 8 out of ten times, what need will be sitting on a shelf. Or I am stuck on a problem that I can't seem to get past. I just concentrate on the issue while falling asleep. Most time I would wake up with the answer to my problem. Give it a shot...you might be surprised at the results.

This is all just my opinion based on years of research and direct observation.

same, wrote my 1st "hello world" program on a room-sized Burrows(sp?) at 14.  my career was Field Engineer specializing in computer-controlled systems.  I wrote machine code that turned my guided missile system into a ComStat receiver, "locking" it onto the satellite so we could get free-porn, I got bored once I verified the radar was receiving the broadcast signal so I never built the horizontal sync black-box.
hacked into servers while in tech-schools, built desk-tops for friends

by WIN-7 I was done, give me a garden, some wood to split, bushes to trim, ANYTHING but a computer!!!!!

Yes indeed the Awe of God....

Relative to AI, I saw a recent article that said AI was already running out of information to learn from. That said, if AI runs out of stuff to learn from and develops its own info it might become more like us humans who make up stuff to pass on as truth or knowledge. Can you image "blue hair" AI.  haha

last article I read had the test-bed AI systems at PHD level intelligence.  but the 2nd law of thermodynamics was constantly creeping into the code, so as it gained intellectual knowledge, it also descended into chaotic behavior.  sorta like a savant might do when faced with an unexpected event.

I've never expected a computer to become sentient, but it will be the "smartest" kid in the room, so the dumbed-down gazing-glass population will "see" AI as all knowing, all caring, all powerful.

Shooter, I remember reading somewhere you were a radar repairman or something like that.

I hated code, I even hated writing scripts...lol. Now That pathetic...but my eyes would glaze over and I'd go into a trance or something. Anyway, I ran away as fast as I could. I still loved computers, so I got into the hardware side. Later, got into a stint of being a remote HW/SW installation tech setting up/troubleshooting bi-sync communications for financial institutions...mostly banks (love to travel). It was a pain in the ass! Let me tell you something about Banks. You would think that banks would be using close to cutting-edge tech in their back-ends...NOT! Some of the biggest Rats I ever saw were under their floors. And their equipment...all held together with rubber bands and duct tape. Chillers constantly going down...just awful.

Then I was graced with the opportunity at Open Solution, a software company front/backend solutions for the banking industry. The best company I ever worked for. But then they were bought by FISERV. I was dong datacenter administration by then so it wasn't a hard decision when it came to finally hanging up my hat.

Getting back to AI. Here's the way I see it. God/Source is the ultimate programmer...the proof is all around you. Humans, if we go by the book are All a part of him. I believe that is why we are able to change the code. I also believe that No machine can do that...not without expressions inserted by Man into the code.

Sure AI will be the sharpest tack in the box but without a soul, there is no genuine creation coming out of the system.

I worry about the programmers...if anyone can screw up a system...it's Man!

did 6 years in the Navy, 3 years sitting in class 5 days a week, 7 hrs a day in their Advanced Electronic systems, after the 2nd year I became a Radar Tech/Specialist on a short range guided missile system.  back to civilian, got picked up by GE as a Field Engineer maintaining, repairing, upgrading CAT scanners.  Cross-trained into MRI systems, got a degree in Automated systems n Robotics.  spent the last 24 years of my career as an In-house FE on MRI systems.  Obama-care socialized Medical, me and 58 Million others were outsourced or downsized now i'm quite happy as a landscaping, garden'n, long-haired-country-boy.

I just knew there was some formal training in your life...hahaha. But that's quite extensive. I remember my mother telling me stories of my father, while stationed at McGuire (early '60s), fixed some code on some kind of brand new IBM radar system in the "Block House" (?) that they could not get working. IBM tried to recruit him on the spot but he refused. Said he want to Fly, not sit in some cube. I don't think the AF/IBM liked that answer and never forgot it. A short time after, I was almost killed in an auto accident. He was dead 4yrs. later under some very shady circumstances.

LOL...it's a pay to play site. I Never pay any attention to website that make you pay to see their content. TV is bad enough...not going down that hole for reading material.

Besides...it's never AI. It's the coders. Back in the ,it was news papers that were to spread the BS. Now it is AI...

It's still BS...

Here is my take on all of this. I do not believe anything coming out of; MS, Meta, Alphabet (how apropos), NASA, Universities or Any MIC like Boeing, Lockheed, BAE and the like. They are all products of DARPA and do Not have our best interest at heart. As a matter of fact, they and all their minions are anti-human. Who do you think is pushing Trans-Humanism on the world?

It's all just an control mechanism. Man has been controlling man since the dawn of time.
