Rectification question
« on: March 13, 2025, 10:20:29 am »
PT repurpose. I want to take the yellow taps from this PT and run them into a rectifier then to filtering and a regulator for 12vdc heaters/relay. The yellows appear to share the CT of the HT reds.  Would i use a 2-phase rectifier on the yellows (since the CT is grounded)? In this diagram they use a bridge rectifier but they are getting +15vdc and -15VDC out of it.

It's drawn like a bridge rectifier but really it's a pair of two-phase rectifiers. So yeah, you only need one.

You've not provided any info to base an estimate on.
It's the same as asking how long the piece of string in your pocket is  :icon_biggrin:
Maybe start with where you've got this transformer from?

Hmm, I doubt it. That winding was only designed for a few opamps, probably a few hundred milliamps at most, same as the B+
