Yup! I sat down to start my first build ever, and I have a question before I even finished unwrapping everything.

The Power Transformer I bought is the 18019 from Triode, USA (made by Heyboer). It comes with long flat head bolt that already has little nuts screwed on. To mount the Power Transformer to the chassis, do I need to take the existing nuts off, put the bolts through the chassis holes, and then replace the nuts, or are those little nuts somehow holding the chassis together and should never be removed? The bolts are long enough to leave the nuts on, put the bolts through the chassis holes, and then use some other kind of nuts to bolt the chassis down.

I know this is a total Newbie question, but... it's not obvious to me. Also... if I'm supposed to use different nuts than the little ones already on the transformer, what are those nuts called? Lock-nuts?

Those nuts are holding the laminates together, so they need to stay where they are.

Use four new nuts (preferably keps nuts) to mount the transformer to the chassis.

Don't remove the original nuts

Use lock nut or nut and teeth washer. That is why bolts are long , for a new nuts
