I Bearly got this shot

I Bearly got this shot.  :icon_biggrin:
A young bear strolled past my shop.
By the time I got my camera, it was headed into the woods.

Love the woods! And the critters...with due respect too. I remember when my father got stationed at Paine AFB. I was like 8 at the time. He bought a house on a hillside that over looked the Puget Sound with Mt. Baker in the background. I used to walk those woods for hours, but never saw Bigfoot!

Several different bears wander past my house regularly
Here's a medium sized one I caught on one of my cameras

I don't go anywhere if the weather is like that
There's no need to

My shop is in the building where the camera took the image
So my commute is 75 feet each day

I drive less that 600 miles a year

Now that I have hit my silver years...not a big fan of the cold. I have accumulated a lot of joint injuries over the years and the cold just causes me misery all day long. So I moved to a few yrs back to FL thinking I was going to escape the cold...wrong! I got a place north of Tampa and in the winter it is almost as cold as it was in Jersey. The season is shorter but just as cold. Life's a bitch and then you die.

Things are so messed up now. I really miss night school. There was a time if you wanted to get some more schooling in whatever you could just go to the local school/Vo-Tech (are Vo-Techs even a thing anymore?) and take a night course. I so wanted to start taking classes in electronics to acquire a good knowledge base in the subject...help me to get a grasp on the physics side...flow of electrons and such. No longer. Seems night school is a thing of the past...shame.

Sorry for the rant...

I drove on average 50,000 a year for my career, add 30k for fun, for more than 30 years, now I might drive 1,000 miles a year!!!
it's not my age that keeps the miles low, I already did it, been there, ain't got enough time in a day to accomplish what I want to do here in the cornfields of MI.

Like you, moving from the "hustle n bustle" to the country 35 years ago was one of the best life-choices I've made!!
Went Class C for efficiency

Yep, Sarasota, FL was nice when I first moved there in 1973 from Michigan

Pisgah Forest, NC is several cuts above both of those places

Well, I moved from Jeresy and now live north of a small town called Brooksville. And when compared to Jersey...it is country. Farms everywhere. Most people have chickens and roosters, cows and horses. But it has it's benefits. Free range chicken and eggs. Great Beef from the butcher done the street and all the home grown veggies you will ever want. I am very paranoid about the food I eat.

But insurance in FL is a killer...almost had a heart attack coming out of DMV.
