Hoffman AB763 in DR Reissue
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put Doug's AB763 board kit in my Deluxe Reverb reissue. Awesome and well worth it.
Does anyone have any thoughts about whether or not it's worth putting in one of his DR output transformers, or are these the same as the reissue comes with?

If you want a true upgrade, check out David Allen's heavy duty Deluxe Reverb OT at
www.allenamps.com. As he says on his site, you may have to rotate the speaker as the OT is rather long/tall, but the mounting holes are the same so no drilling required. It's what I'm using in my DR scratch-built along with Doug's AB763 board and I think it sounds great.

Not yet, I gather information (and money) right now.

Update

So, I bought a new OT from Mercury Magnetics and was pretty surprised at how much better the amp sounds. A good $60 investment.

Hi, Jeff!
Can you describe the sound changes:
1. After changing the circuit board to Hoffman AB 763
2. After changing OT to Mercury
I live on the other side of the world and for me it all goes expensive w. taxes and shipping, I want to be sure before I'm going to order.
Thank you!
