Sovtek MG50H
« on: September 12, 2025, 03:21:35 pm »
Guys, I have a Sovtek 50H in the shop. The owner wants the 6 pin cliff hi and low inputs wired back stock. As hard as I can look I can’t find a schematic or a diagram for the 6 pin connector. I have the pin 2 and 7 inputs marked, there is another input from the jacks going to a small cap. I believe the jacks are wired to prevent using both inputs at once. Some help would be appreciated a clear as day pic or drawing even better! Thx!!!

I think is talking about a 6 pin, 1/4" cliff jack. If the amp had these originally, there should be holes in the PCB where the cliff jacks were. You can buy 6 pin cliff jacks at various suppliers.

The 1/4” 6 pin cliff jacks do not mount to a pcb, instead they have rather shoddy wiring to pcb pins. None of the prints reflect the 6pin configuration. I know it’s a canceling setup so either the high or low input is used but not both. If it were just input wires to the tubes I could use regular jacks or 4 pin cliffs, it’s the 3rd input wire that has me stumped, not shown on any print. I found some pics, not very clear but at least something to start with. I think I’ll post some pics and info. I’m sure I’m not the only person that has ran into this. The 50H is a totally different beast. Extremely well built except for the wiring which leaves a lot to be desired.
