Does any body see a problem in removing the wires that connect the heaters to the hum balance pot on a bassmann 100?www.ampwares.com/ffg/schem/bassman_135_schem.jpg

If you drop the hum balance pot you will lose the ground reference for the heater cricuit and you might get hum.
Replace the the pot with two 100 ohm resistors to ground.

What Chris said, you can remove the wires but you must then ground-reference the heaters some other way.
