concentric pot?????
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Concentric pot...Dual/stacked pots with seperate controls. Like the old stereos with stacked knobs for bass and treble. Anybody know if they're available??? I'd like to use one in my old Bassman to add on midrange. So the pot would a 25K and 250k (mid/bass)....

Mee too, I need concentric pots to add treble/bass to amps that have a single tone control. Need pots and knobs. Nice looking knobs, not knurled aluminum.

The only ones I know of are for guitars and have knurled knobs. Stew-Mac has them in 500K, but I thought they used to have 250K also.
Here's the link, if you're interested.

Too bad the knobs are far from the Fender vintage amp look.
Can't you put a resistor in parallel with the 2 outer legs and change the value?? Like add a 500k and now you get a 250K pot??

Yes you can put a resistor across a pot and change the value but it changes the taper also.

CTS makes 'em
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This won't help you buy them, but they certainly do make them.
I've looked into this before to find that CTS makes dual concentric 24mm 1/2w pots. Thay are knbown as "Series 450 type-455".
You can go to CTS website and download "Technical Data Sheet 1450B" which shows the pots with all the options we are looking for, they are available in all the normal values and can be had with different values on the same pot.
Now the tough part, finding someone who stocks them! or is willing to order a minimum lot in the typical amp values of 1M, 500K, 250K, 100k, 25K, 15k etc.

Concentric pots

I've had no luck yet, but your info is great. I guess 250K concentric pot for bass and treble would come close for my needs. But Stu-Mac just has 500K....I hope to find some?? Thanks....

I looked into this a while back and ended up talking with Ted Weber. He was in the process of working out a deal with a distributer to get dual concentric pots for amplifiers. the problem was that with finding a set of knobs that would work with the pots.
I guess there isn't a large enough demand for dual concentric pots for the market to swing.
I was interested in 1M/1M
