Not lazy - just careful? Layout help?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Hi,

Can anyone here point me to a good 'known' layout for the AX84 November Rev 8. I am not lazy - just very unsure about layouts and I don't wanna ruin the project on the first day?

Any help appreciated.

James

  November board layout
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm almost finished with a home built November. I don't get to work on it as much as I would like so it's a long project. I strongly advise printing off the schematics and layout on the largest paper you have and follow the connections on the circuit board posted on the AX84 website. When you are verifying the board layout, keep in mind where the components you are linking to are located on the chassis (tubes, trannies, choke, pots, sockets, etc). Make sure you account for every piece on the schematic. The November schematic seems easy to read for me, but making sure everything is layed out for a quiet amp might make things difficult. Doug has a lot of good information on amp building. Reading through Doug's information completely and understanding it will help you out a lot when you are examining the layout. I'm actually thinking about building a new board at some point because there are things I want to position differently. When you do order parts, get extras. Keep the group up to date on this. I'm very interested. I hope everyone else is, too.

I was looking at the linked layout in one of the messages. the one I used is from House of Jim.

I did make some changes for my amp. I'll know how they worked when I using the amp. When I get my layout finalized in a working form, I'll post it.
