 converting hammond reverb for guitar

 I just got the reverb unit out of a hammond IV organ. I have the amp and spring tank. I want to make a stand alone unit for my vintage Hiwatt. Can this be done? If so, is there anyone who can tell me how or point me in the right direction? Thanks

 Need more details such as, what tubes are in the amp? Is it the entire amp or just a reverb driver/recovery? Does it have it's own power supply?

 Hi,
The unit came out of a hammond type IV model M111. The amp has five tubes, two of witch appear to be power tubes. It must be 30 0r 40 watts. The spring tank is an accutronics 4. The amp was originally driven by the organs loudspeaker at 8ohms. The out put is the same. I want to build a cabinet for the amp and reverb tank and drive it from the speaker jack on my DR504 Hiwatt, then feed it into my 2X12 cabinet. Can this be done. thanks.

 Anything can be done as long as you have the basic ingredients of tubes and power transformer I would start by drawing the circuit that's in there now and then plan a few changes. So the unit originally got it's input off the speaker? I would go for modifying the unit to run in an effects loop.

 Hi,
My old '79 Hiwatt doesn't have an effects loop. I am concerned with controling the signal input as well as having some kind of control over the actual reverb itself if I run it off the Hiwatt's speaker jack. I wonder how the Hammond will handle the load?

 Kits and other info are available for adding a buffered effects loop with in & out level controls to just about any tube amp.

If the Hammond got it's input from a speaker then it should work for guitar too. However a schematic tells all and you should get or draw one. Then there is no end to mods that could be made to suit your purposes, limited only by time and money.
