Homebuild exact hoffman "add reverb to western elec circuit". Fender '66 Showman transformers, 8ohm OPT. 2XGE6ca7's. Sounds pretty good. Two questions.
1) Increasing presense past 7 decreases overall vol when pregain passes 3. Master vol on 10 (may remove altogether). What gives?
2) Weak reverb, (inherent in design?) requires dwell and mix on 10 to sound ok.
Other than that it's a good design and sounds like a mean tweed with reverb.

Ups, I don't like to here that - I'm still building my 5F4a-verb following Doug's design and hope the reverb turns out ok... anybody has any experience with the design? I 'll use the two spring tank Doug sells.

Hard to say, you will have to go over everything with a fine tooth comb.
Something is wired wrong somewhere.

I made all my 30 watt combo amps with the same plexi/reverb added design and so it does work properly when assembled correctly.
