Doug's Marshall Replacement tf's
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has anyone used the Marshall replacement tf's that doug sells? I'm building an amp for a friend that will basically be a plexi with 2 extra gain stages that can be footswitched in and out, kind of along the lines of a Bogner extasy or soldano SLO. This will be my first EL34 Amp, I'm VERY excited!

I'm sure they do, Doug wouldn't sell any junk-What did you build? How does it sound? I guess my main concern is the filament current rating because I'm going to be running 5 preamp tubes instead of 3. Doug offers no current/primary impedance ratings in the description of these.

I built a Plexi 50 with Doug's Marshall parts.
It's the vintage amp I could never afford.
Amazing sound but loud, very loud. I love it!

I have built several hoffman Plexi 50 heads with Doug's PT's and OT's. And they sound great as mentioned by previous post. Here is the page with the trannie ratings. Towards the bottom of the page it says 5 amps on the mpt50 and 7 amps on the mpt100 for the heater winding. The impedance for the OT's is towards the upper part of the page.

Thanks, I'm sold. I hate to spend huge money on tf's so Doug's really fit the bill! THANKS EVERYBODY!!

You didn't look at the transformer spec's page?
All the current ratings are listed.
