Muchle$$ Lightning 15 Reverb
« on: October 28, 2008, 07:04:36 pm »
Hi.

Here's schematic for matchless lightning 15 with reverb from this thread: http://www.el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4975.0

EDIT: I added an editable  SCH file for SirElwood's schematic. Note the only significant difference on the PT voltages.  Tubenit

EDIT2: .gif file should now be corrected.

EDIT 3:  I added another version with vibrato also

This is a DRAFT layout for SirElwoods Lightning Reverb.

This has not been built. Compare with SirElwood's schematic.

Nice work.
Suggestion: You have an odd number of preamp tube gain stages. Which means you have an unused half of a 12A_7.  Why not make the reverb driver a full (parallel) tube like Fender does.

The schematic actually parallels V1 and so there are no gain stages left over.................. however,

Fair question about using a Fender reverb with paralleled 12AT7. I personally prefer the tone of the one tube reverb such as used on the D'Lite. I think it is a much warmer sounding reverb since more mids are verbed.  I simply haven't tried the D'Lite type reverb values with the 1.5 tube Fender type so I'm not how it would sound?  Probably would work fine, but I don't know?

EDIT: 9/10/10

I am adding a schematic based on what is reported as a working amp design that I saw on the AmpGarage by ChrisM. He reviewed the schematic and put this to his values with the exception of the B+ rail and posting voltages. However, I have changed a few of the values and created a B+ rail that might be a reasonable place to start.  I thought it had some interesting ideas.
