That sounds pretty good.
I'll probably throw it in w/ the drum track again so I have room for other stuff!

Also I might have to stretch it out a beat or we'll be in 7/4 time!

Go for it! I can still adjust the levels and maybe add a small bit of compression to get the boom in control. The bongo's definitly add something to it. Sort of makes it feel a little smoother. Was the only thing that would come out when I heard the bongos.

I'll give it another go around tomorrow when no one is a sleep.

Got something down.  I'll post it tomorrow.

It's a very basic mix...needs more stuff...which is the idea I hope.

Sounds cool. I think the drums could drop a little in volume but that could change as things get added to it. Keyboards would sound cool in it. Then change up to a D after a few bars of A.

Kind of reminds me of something Kravits would do.

Someone mentioned keyboards.  Something in a lead like this-
http://www.nieting.org/music/collab3.mp3

Or a little more quietly in the back like this-
http://www.nieting.org/music/collab3a.mp3  (I'm not sure the G chord belongs in there, but I got bored.)

OK then - A quick variation of the second one with a few octaves of bass thrown in.

http://www.nieting.org/music/collab3b.mp3

Who's next?

Hmmm-
I just re-listened to this and don't like the direction it takes the tune.  I liked the edgy feeling the tune had before this was added.  I'll leave this up, but...

I like the second one too.
Maybe I'll get some time today.

EDIT:
Hey Gman,
Can you save that organ on a track by itself?
I already have BM's drum track.
I need your track with no drums.
I only need the part where you go from the Am to the G and a little bit more on both ends of that chord change. I will edit it in a wav editor to the length I want.

Uhh, for some reason I can't play along with the organ there G.

I am not in tune with it, it's off just a bit.

How can that be?

Hmmm-

Last time I put a tuner on my keyboard, it was dead on, but I will check this evening again.

I can give you the mp3 of just the keys (with or without bass?) and let you check it's pitch and sync it back into the mix.

I was just wondering what the best way would be to pass a Mixcraft project to you would be if we ever decided to go there.

(Bit rate I put up was at 192 kbs.  Does that change anything?)

Don't know why but's it out of tune.
I checked my guitar on my boss TU-12 and on the computer also.

See if your keyboard Am and G jive starting at the 1:00 minute mark on the tune below.

It started out in E, then Gman threw that cool AM, G section in and I added a tail end section to match it.

I still need your keyboard part, just a short MP3 file of AM to G that's in tune with this.

Not sure where this thing is going but here's what I have so far.
I could go back to the opening E, F thing again.
http://www.el34world.com/Misc/Music/files/collab3b.mp3

I can take any of the parts you hear and run them off to a file. You will get just the part itself, no drums, etc.

Wow!  That's quite the tour de force.

Not allot of room to manuever anymore so don't know where it goes from here.

(I PM'd you the keys track.)

Naaa, I just was putting together bits and pieces.
I may unassemble it all and re-do it.

What I think we should do is take pieces of everybody's stuff and assemble our own versions.
But it's all based around Bassmansters drum.

I can take any of the sounds, tracks on what I have so far and dump it if you want any of it.
I'm going to go check out the keyboard part now.

There's a bunch of pops and clicks on that keyboard mp3 Gman. Can't really hear it once it was inserted into my mix.

Sorry about the pops and clicks.  I hear it also.  It's my cheap keyboards.  You can hear the individual key switches turning on and off.  One of my goals is to get a real keyboard.  The only reason I still use this one is like you said, you don't really ever hear the clicks in the mix.

Yo, Gman,
I mixed some more today.
Your Keyboard comes in at the 1 minute mark.
The keys sound good I think.

I agree!  Well done.  Nice guitar duet/dual with the Am and G change of the keys.

And here I go and say there's not allot of room for something else and you do a great job showing there is.  I need to work on my imagination and creativity a bit.

Again, nicely done!

Went a little crazy with the wah but I hardly ever play with one and it is fun.

I sniped up your keys into loops.

I'll try and take the same beat another direction next week.

The guitar playing on that is great, but personally I would like to see something with a bit more open mix.  It's pretty thick sounding.  Maybe that's the ping-pong effect.

The collaboration sounds good to me. I like the muted vowel sound of the wah-wah and think it works great for that tune.  The solo rocks!  Maybe using the wah-wah in more of a fixed position or with a tad less wah at prior to the solo would sound better? Some of the wah towards the beginning sounded a little busy.

Now to ask a really dumb question, .... when I play these tunes on my computer there is sort of a psychedelic light show type thing going on at the same time. Are you guys programming and creating that also or does my computer automatically do that? Not sure what the source is but it's pretty cool. (and no, I haven't dropped since the fall of '70)

I enjoy the music posts. Thanks for sharing em.

Turn off visualizations ......    no way, I think they're cool to watch and like em.

 :D

Yeah, it's Windows Media player.  I am taking it by your response that you all are not programming em. I think they're pretty creative personally.

It's just something media player does unless you turn them off.

It's fun to sit back with some beer, put on some stuff like ZZ Top, switch to full screen on the player and watch the visualizations.

Some vis's are better than others.

I must be, except I can't play like Joe but Joe actually has a great clean tone and distorted tone. He has coils taps, etc on hos signature guitar.

I just ordered Joe's newest Ibanez JS1200 signature model from a guy in Jersey that does pro setups on guitars. Be here in about a month.
http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=JS1200
Look at the body contours on this guitar. This is definatley not a JEM squared off shredders shped guitar.

It cost a couple hundred more from this guy than from Musicians friend/net dealers, if you can even find one in stock. They are hard to get.

This guy takes a new guitar, tears the guitar down to the bones, levels the frets, dresses the frets, sets the neck relief, re-aligns the neck, shaves the neck pocket if needed, sets the floating trem up correctly, does the intonation, checks everything twice.

In other words he takes a new guitar and makes sure it is perfect, which they never are right off the assembly line.
This is the guy and he has an awesome rep.
http://www.ibanezrules.com/new/js1200ca.htm

I have the two Bastards Strats with big ass strings and high action,  but I have never owned a hot rod type shredder guitar and so I am going to have some fun with this new Ibanez.

I have never been a fan of pointy headstock type guitars, but I like this Ibanez and I think it is going to be a blast to play.

Wow!. That a sweet looking guitar. Your going to like the action on those things and the tone of the basswood. A floyd trem equiped guitar sounds better on basswood in my opinion. Not so thin sounding. I got to play a jem of the shelf and it felt good. I can imagine what it would be like with a proper setup. I get that done with every guitar I got. Makes a huge difference.
