New Clips of Amp i've Built
« on: June 13, 2009, 06:41:41 am »
1) Mule BP50----- Strat blues---- straight into the '62 Brownface Bassman/Plexi 50 hybrid head i built---- a bit of reverb added post production.

2)Mule 2204/120-SLO Industrial----- very heavy modern Industrial clip----- a modded 2204 clone i built and the SC120-SLO head are panned L/R for rhythm and the modded 2204 w/Zakk Wylde OD pedal is used for the Lead track.

Guitars and backing tracks for both clips were done by my friend--- who doesn't want his real name listed.

Nice tones, nicely captured.  What did you record with (software, mikes, etc.)?

Cool...there is a pretty wide stereo spectrum on the recordings.

I'm not sure why he doesn't want his name used----he called me on his way home from the recording session and asked to to use the name Harry Ballzzakk III instead--- he's one of my more unusual friends----he makes theatrical props out of latex, etc as a hobby (severed heads, various gore, etc)----he took one bare wood amplifier head cab and he's going to make an "Ed Gain" (Gein) head cab for me that's covered with faux stiched human skin, eyeballs for pot knobs, and other body parts for the handle, and i'm not sure what all he has in mind----he was talking to some of the metal players about this at the studio and they were quite impressed with the idea.
I'll make a Hi-Gain amp to put inside it and we'll see what happens---and he's a good sounding musician who doesn't play in a band but records impressive stuff on his computer----the backing tracks he did for these recordings are very basic compared to some of the things i've heard.................gldtp99

He sounds like an interesting fella!  I'd love to see the finished cab, sounds like a very cool idea.

ProTools in the studio across the hall from my workshop (in a band rehersal/recording studio building)---Shure SM57 mics---my 60's Marshall straight 4x12 w/G12T-75's for the 120-SLO and BP50---and my Marshall 1960AX w/Emi GB12's for the modded 2204 clone.
Pretty basic, no frills recording session----no iso booths, etc----guitarist on a stool in the big room with the mic'd halfstacks...................gldtp99
