Rico's new page, new tunes posted.
« on: June 20, 2009, 09:08:43 pm »
I started a "musician" page on MySpace, www.myspace.com/ricosgruv and posted some tunes.

I've been in a "real" studio with a drummer and bass thumper working on a CD for local release.  My usual Texas Honky Tonk style stuff, and yes, some of my amp builds are being used for most of the guitar work, although the studio sure helps me discover new strange noises to track down and fix, heh.

I also added a new tune to my Rico's Gruv soundclick music, just search for Rico's Gruv there.

It's been a long time since I logged in and posted here.  I've been lurking and reading some, but my amp building has slowed down quite a bit.   Between trying to get this CD finished and get my son graduated from HS and into college, I just don't have much bandwidth lately.

Peace,
Rico

Thank you for the kind words.

The recordings of those impromptu performances at that party are what inspired me to finally do a CD project.  I haven't quite captured that live energy in the studio yet, but everything is in rough mix status right now, have a lot of editing, mixing, and eq tweaking to go.

Yeah, that amps crunchy sound live is pretty cool, but it is one of the ones that has some weird noises I have to track down and fix for much further use in the studio.  It's my lil' orange hybrid, with the SRPP 1st stage, followed by the usual Fender 5F6 Bassman or Marshall plexi TMB tonestack/CF and PI, PPIMV into cathode biased 6v6 finals, no negative feedback.

Rick
