« on: August 02, 2009, 07:37:04 pm »
Does anyone have a legible schematic for the Ibanez MT-10 distortion pedal?  I can find a schematic that I can actually read.

thanks, tubenit

Here's my situation.  I love this pedal. I like it better than my Tube Screamer or a Super Tube Screamer I gave my son. Should be noted I changed out the OP AMP for what is similar to the Tube Screamer.

However, to get the distortion and level I want .......... I dial the distortion pot to about 7 (1-10)  and the level pot to about 3.

The problem is that at 2.5 - I get almost no sound/volume
at  3 - it's about the right setting
at about 3.5-4  ......... the volume has doubled.

Do I need a pot that is smaller or larger to get a better sweep here?  I keep arguing with myself which way will acquire the sweep I want.

I think VR5 is the level control and it appears to be a 100kb (linear?)  Do I need to change that to a 100k audio ........ or change the size of the pot larger or smaller meaning 50k or 250k?

I don't like the sudden jump in volume. I need it alot more gradual.

With respect, Tubenit

Hi Tubenit,

Try strapping (with clip leads if possible) a resistor of about 20K (1/4 to 1/6 resistance of the pot value) to the input side and wiper of the pot to see if the change in taper will effect the useability of the pot.  This method is described in detail in 'the secret life of pots' at
