I don't usually solicit favors on forums, in particular this one, but I'm making an exception in this case.  There is a contest to allow an unsigned band to play the ACL fest.  I am 100% behind this band Mother Falcon.  It is a wind & string ensemble comprised of 12 18 - 20 year old very talented musicians.  I know most of these kids through my daughter because they are all McCallum Fine Arts Academy graduates.  (Don't let the name fool you, it's a public school.) I recently saw them perform and I was completely blown away.  Not at all what I was expecting.  I think they really have a shot at this and it would be sooo cool for ACL to have them instead of yet another Nirvana clone or some such.

If you would please check them out and are so inclined as to cast them a few votes between now and the 18th, it would be greatly appreciated.  A few threads down, there's a thread discussing how truly talentless many bands are today.  These guys have restored my faith in the future of music.
