Here are two quick and dirty clips of my 260 and 280 amps (intensity pots full up):

the vibrato on 280 amp is only about half as strong:

Thanks, but does it seem to you that 280 amp should have stronger vibrato?

I actually like the 280 better.....it seems "smoother" & more pleasing to the ear(?)

Yes, I love it too, it's definitely more polite to the ear, it's just that I somehow expected I could dial in from polite to over-the-top-mad-gurgle like I can on 260 amp. I think I'll leave it as it is, I really should not want this amp to do what it's not designed for.
I'm off to button it up and finally play it!
