What Glue for a "cheap" folk pick guard?

Please don't reply "snail slime" which you can get from Stewart MacDonald for a mere $89 a gallon plus $25 shipping.  This is a mohogany Hohner I'm sticking an electric guitar pick up on for that John Lennon thang.  The pick guard came off the guitar and is as flimsy as Soupy Sale's excuse for living.  A nice "home remedy" perhaps.

I'd say either contact cement, or 3M's #99 spray adhesive.  (or whatever Gabe Hoffman recommends)
This problem calls for a bigger hammer!

WELL, the right stuff (which Stew-Mac does sell, though for a lot less than $80) is THIS

If you really don't want to do that, you can also use tightbond, but it is a giant PITA.  believe me, the time you save using the stuff from Stew Mac more than pays for the extra $2 to get it.  Though I suppose its a bit more when you include shipping.  We have a 50 yard roll of the stuff that I suspect will last us the next 10 years, if we are judicious with our use, which we are.  Basically, this stuff is a fancy double stick tape, with no backing.  It works great, though.  It's the same stuff Martin, Gibson, and Taylor use.  One of the nice things is that it gives you a little bit of stretch when the top shrinks and expands, so the pickguard doesn't crack the top (which can happen with other adhesives, which is why everybody switched to this stuff).

I wouldn't want to use and of the spray adhesives - too messy to do it right.

I'd love to get that but McDonald has a minimum purchase and shipping.  I'll check ebay and see if any dudes are selling that stuff.

You might try your local guitar repair shop.  We keep a few sheets in stock for customers, and I would imagine others would too.
