Great Guitar Tones On the Weather Channel
« on: December 07, 2009, 09:31:54 am »
I haven't seen any discussion on this or either I missed it but I've been noticing for a while all the classis guitar signature tones played as background music for the weather channel. Everything from Allman Bros, Jazz to Hendrix and everything else in between. Who ever does the mucic programing for this channel has to be an avid guitar player.

I've heard a instumental rock tune lately on there that sounds like a tele highly compressed and slighly distorted---the compression I'm hearing might be natural tube compression? but the format of the song, playing ability of the dude and tone just knocks me out every time I hear it. I wish there was as way to find out the artist!!? Sometimes I tune in not interested in the weather at all but just out of curosity what style of playing will be on. Has anybody else been paying attention????? Platefire

Well thanks Geezer. I couldn't find anything that told me anything about the artist of the tele antics but mostly wanted to point out that the great guitar sounds comeing from that channel and it's usally all predominatly guitar instrumental stuff. I thought that was pretty cool since you just don't get that everywhere. I thought it was noteworthy---maybe not? Platefire
