Carvin's founder, Lowell C. Kiesel, passed away on December 28, 2009:

Carvin is still a family business: "Eldest son Carson Kiesel is President of Carvin, and is in charge of electronics design and production. Mark Kiesel is Vice-President and in charge of guitar and bass design and production. Jon Kiesel is also Vice-President, and is responsible for speaker cabinet design and production. Grandson Jeff Kiesel is Director of National Sales, and grandson Joel Kiesel is Director of International Sales. Granddaughter Kristen Kiesel Lieurance is a production engineer..."

Wow, I wonder how that family gets along!  I would imagine Lowell was the driving force and the glue.  It will be interesting to see how they faire.  I would hate to see it go the way of many second generation family businesses.  They have been through a lot.  Back in the 70's they went totally solid state and sales tanked.  I'm surprised they survived.  I hope they make Lowell proud, those are some big shoes to fill.  RIP....
