6AQ5 10W OD

Amp sounds really nice! Takes OD pedals well and does both clean and overdrive well. Pretty verstile amp. It sounds sorta like a cranked blackface fender with ALOT more mids in it and a dash of chime/jangle on top. Anyway, that's the best I can describe it. However, while some fenders seem muddy (to my ears) when cranked, this amp does not. The chording still allows the notes to articulate well. It has nice harmonics.

It was built with Deluxe Reverb type PT & OT. Using a 10" Ragin Cajun speaker. However, it sounds even better to me with a Red,White and Blues.

With respect, Tubenit

Very interesting.  I hadn't read much about this old tube before.  Did you design from scratch or did you start with an old design?  I'm very interested in different flavors for SE amps for our desktop series.

BTW, I tried to ping you off list with a question and never heard back.  Didn't want to bother you just digging for info as usual.

It's the result of alot of experimenting done on numerous amps and culminated into this one. I've done the paralleled V1 & V2 before on a Carolina Blues Rocket with 5881's.

I always try to answer any PM's, emails, etc.....

Not sure what "pinged" me means?

Sorry, "pinged" comes from an old unix way to check to see if someone is connected to the network.  Sometimes my geek-speak gets the best of me.

Look at my posting about a GA-40 layout.  I'm thinking of doing one without the trem channel but am concerned about holding on to the original tone.  I'm better at reading layouts than schematics at this point (I know, I'm working on it), so I was fishing for an ExpressSCH GA-40 layout.
