Got wired
« on: April 10, 2010, 04:42:38 am »
Want to share my last project to which I got help from this forum.

Specifications:
Channel A: normal VOX with 12AX7s, can be switched to Matchess DC30 mode, an additional boost volume
which can be controlled by foot switch
Channel B: EF86 preamp stage with a modified Baxandall tone stack
Reverb: 17" Accutronics tank + RT, implemented with 2 x 12AX7s, controls Reverb and Reverb Vol.
It is placed before the preamp stages and can be switched both to the A and B-channels.
The reverb can be by-passed with foot switch.
The reverb works as an extra preamp if the reverb control is turned off. This gives more options
for the EF86 channel which has lower amplification.
PI: VOX
Power amp: VOX AC30 with Master + Master by-pass (p/p), high/low power switch

The amplifier has a very strong filtering + choke which keeps the sound clean.

Maybe you wonder the big capacitor in the middle of the chassis. It is filtering the voltage supply of the relays.

There are in total 5 relays in the amp, 10 tubes, chassis is 600mm x 250mm x 60mm 1.5 mm steel

I don't have a schematic explicitly for this amp since it is a combination
of the other amps I have built.  You'll find the basis for the schematic if you
select RikstoneH30m on the web-site below.

The reverb schematic can be found here:

I'll publish the pictures on my web-pages later when have got the grill cloth and
the final knobs for the amp.
