what's the preferred method for breaking in a new speaker?

Mine is playing through it, to me any other method seems goofy.  :angel
I don't crank it until I've got a few hours on it although that may not be necessary
just my opinion I could be wrong

Hook 12V ac to it for 24hrs.  Use an old style car battery charger - tap it before the rectifier.

I use a 6V3 filament transformer.  Makes a low racket.

A variac at low voltage works. I got this method from Dave Allen (not from his site, in case you're going to look for it). He knows what he's doing!
