hollow sound
« on: June 03, 2010, 04:46:33 pm »
Any ideas what could be reasons for a "hollow" and "smoky" sound?
Everything seems to be correctly wired and the voltages are OK, also
the tubes have been checked/changed.

2 x EL84 power amp, 12AX7s in preamp. The amp is based on Matchless Lightning.

There is a reverb integrated into preamp. The resistor that goes over the tank
was connected to the input pin of the first tube i.e. non-delayed signal didn't bypass
the tank properly.
