The Story of the Guitar

 I stumbled (no not the firefox add on) on this while perusing You Tube and thought it was pretty cool. I never caught the airing of the show, but its from BBC and was called 'The Story of the Guitar' with interviews with lots of players about what the guitar meant to them, things they did in the studio on the albums and lots of other sorts of information. Here is the page broken up by Artist they interviewed. I've listened to quite a few, but thought others that likewise hadn't seen it or did and wanted to again might enjoy it. So here you go:

I'm not sure where this will bring you artist wise, it displayed all of them starting at B for me, but I had already started on a previous letter, so adjust by letter until you see any you might enjoy. Thanks.

Steve Cropper interview was really cool to me!  I cut my teeth on soul music and motown ..... then blues.

 Yeah I listened to those, pretty cool. The edge is fairly cool, I've seen that interview before on something else, he talks about his first Explorer he recorded with. Iggy Pop is pretty funny, the guys such a burn out most of what he says makes little sense, but he's amusing. Look at Seasick Steve, pretty bluesy delta style blues from a white guy, he's a trip plays pretty junky guitars but gets a pretty authentic Delta sound for sure.

 I had missed that second video, that was cool bout his first guitar. Imagine a time when the blues guy was making money. I thought that was pretty telling too " I thought I was pretty good, till I went to Memphis", can you imagine what it must have sounded like in Memphis and in Chicago on the street corners cutting heads? Wow.

 I thought I'd keep this in this thread since BB mentioned it, but here's his Cousin Bukka White. I always like this tune, notice the fancy strummin, this is how you got the women in the jukes back in the day. :D

 I heard tale he learned that slappin' from Charlie Patton.
