The Moog Cookbook
« on: July 01, 2010, 10:34:14 pm »

These guys are a trip, using cast off old synth's, organs and any sort of electronic instruments the pair put out this album of covers. I remember hearing this years ago and just had one of those moments of hey whatever happened to those guys.. (some may say best left lost but hey one's memory's are what they are.). I find they're music pretty humorous with the old bad drum machines and such. Here's two examples:

Black Hole Sun:

Basket Case:

Yup it sounds like stuff from Neapolean Dynamite but thats ok..   Enjoy (or not)

Yeah, I remember these.
They are great!
Some of those classic synths are worth booku mula.....hard as hell to "tame" sometimes though.

Yeah many of them are hard to keep in tune (well if there is such a thing with them). I know many of them are all over the place due to temperature. But your right, they're fetching a pretty penny these days, back when they did these recordings they were being dumped for cheap. Hard to beat the old analog synth's for they're fatness and sound though.

Regards,

D.
