1/50 NP capacitor question

Hi Gent's,

I need to know if I'm reading this correct. I've never seen NP after a cap number.
1/50 NP = 1uf/50V non polar electrolytic.

Why mess with electrolytics. I replace those with:
r82ec4100dq metal film from Mouser. Also available: 2.2uf, .47uf.
