I have one. Which chapter are you interested in?

Cheers Stephan

Merlin's book

The TUT series has a lot to offer, but I found it disorganized and sometimes the rants would get a little annoying.  It is hard for me to recommend one single book out of the series because the info I use is in many of them.  I suppose TUT1 and TUT3.

I have TUT 1,2 & 3 and also find 1 & 3 the most useful. 3 has lots of practical amp building tips in it, and less of the ranting.

+ 1 for Merlin's book

I haven't the TUT

but often read about people that say exactly what tubesornothing say (also in italian forums)

I've two books from Richard Kuehnel

pre amp book

power amp book

and the Merlin's book

my preferred is Merlin's book

also if I've learn more than one thing from Kuehnel's power amp book

I must say that I haven't any study on the matter and I appreciate very much the way Merlin explains things in his book and web site

here you can also read some parts of the book

I assure that I don't receive commission from Blencowe

From the TUT series I like no. 1 and no. 3 the most, followed by no. 5. Some of the other stuff in there is way over my head.

ValveWizard's book is excellent and offers many new ideas.

I only have Kuehnel's 5F6-A book which I found to be of very little practical use. The math in there is way over my head as well.

On the other hand I have read many books earlier and did not understand much of the content. Since then I have grown into some of them and can now understand them. So I will need to revisit the 5F6-A book at some time.

Cheers Stephan

I would also like to put in a plug for Gar Gillies book "As Gar Sees it"  - very practical, full of interesting ideas.  No theory.

I purchased TUT3 and although it had a lot of great info and insight, I was really turned off by the poor hand drawn illustrations and schematics.

That was my thought on tut3 also.    I wanted to build a 50 watt marshall out of the book and the hand drawn pictures are so poor it was worthless for that . although Ive grown into understanding some of the otherthings in there. i was just dissapointed when I started out, but luckily I found this forum and metro amp forum both have taught me a huge amount. I would third Merlins book I just hope eventually I will grow enough to fully understand it. Bill

I recommend no.3 also if your set one of KOC's books. Merlin's is great too, of course, and the smartest, no doubt. And 1+ on Garnet's book - a little overpriced, but cool, cause Garnet is just cool!
