Run - A collaboration tune

This is a tune that I was asked to do the guitar work on for a member named RootMusic on the Mixcraft Live web site

RootMusic sent me a .mp3 file and I added all the guitar parts.
He did the bass, vocals and drums

I thought that was a very catchy tune and the guitar playing was right in the groove on the tune. Sounded good. You did an excellent job with the guitar work. Nice playing. Tune had sort of a David Bowie meets Cars flavor to it, IMO.

Thanks Guys, it was really fun, for a change, not having to create the whole song from scratch
Just sitting back and coming up with the guitar parts was a blast.

Hey Madison,
It does not matter what software you are using.
Usually you are just sending a wav or mp3 file to the colaborator
Sending a wav file is the best quality, but it is usually huge, like over 30 megs
But sending a mp3 version works too and is 10 times smaller.

Then you just drop that file onto a new track and line it up so it's in time with the rest of the song

I have done several colabs with people at Home Recording and I have no idea what software they were using to create their tracks.

I thought you were exchanging the entire Mixcraft file on a sever somewhere.

In this case, the guy sent me a .mp3 file with everything but the guitar parts

I dropped that file into a new Mixcraft project, then overdubed all the guitar parts on new tracks

In the case where I collaborated with the vocalist, I sent them a .mp3 of the project
They laid down vocals and then sent me back a .mp3 file of just their vocal track
I dropped that vocal file onto my project on a new track

It's better if you get .wav files because the quality is better, but .mp3's work fine.
