Over here in these here civilized parts, there are strick trail rules.

horses yield to hikers
Bikes yield to hikers and horses

You are going to run into idiots that don't follow the rules, no matter where you go.

We always get off the bikes and wait for the horses to pass, so as not to scare them.

Some horses are great, they don't care, they just walk past real nice
Some horses have no business being out amonst hikers and cyclist because they just seem to be spooked by everything.

Now lets talk about the a-hole equestrians we see all the time that have beer coolers slung over the back of the horses.
They are riding with a can of cheap american beer in one hand.
I have seen that at least ten times out at Dupont state forest.

Riding a horse and drinking beer is way higher on the idiot scale, IMO.

88 degrees in the living room at noon in downeast Maine.

Our contractor decided he'd rather go to his IRS audit than come here and swelter.

This won't break until the hurricane goes by. Oh, that may be a degree cooler and 30% more humidity. And high waves, but at 90 feet up and a mile back, I'm not concerned. (Hmmmm.... they opened the culvert on the main road out, and a good surf-storm could wash-out the gully excavation all the way behind the llamas' barn...)

88/75 for the next few days.

We are going to move out of state next summer.  Or that is the plan.
I look forward to cooler weather.

Spring and fall are awesome here.
Night temps drop and then come up to really comfy levels during the day

70 degrees here right now with 52% humidity
perfect
