What is the AB763 reverb combo circuit?
The AB763 circuit is not just one amplifier. It can be made into several different amplifiers by just using a different transformer set. What is the difference between a Deluxe reverb, Vibrolux reverb, Bandmaster reverb, Pro reverb, Super reverb, Black face Vibroverb and the Twin reverb? About the only difference is the transformers, the power tubes and the cabinet/speaker box. There are a few minor differences on the circuit boards themselves but it is not a different circuit. There may be a .01 capacitor on one model and there may be a .02 cap in the exact same spot on another model. The differences between any of the models above are very few if any.

If you are building a Deluxe reverb for example and you are an anal retentive type of person, you may want to look at an original layout diagram to see if there are any differences in the components. For example, if you feel that the original .02 capacitor may sound better than a .01 capacitor, then by all means swap them out. I would wait till you get the actual amp running before you do any parts swapping. Then you can do a before and after type of listening test.

My AB763 board does have one major difference, I use the tremolo from the Black face Vibroverb. This is not an opto isolator tremolo. This tremolo pulses the power tube bias voltage up and down and sounds way better than the opto tremolo to me. It is a very smooth tremolo.
