Where to add Reverb
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:21:36 pm »
Hi guys, I just read Tubenits post on the FX unit.Again something simple but effective. I'm in the process of building the circuit board for the Silver Jubilee and had thought of having a reverb. Looking at the schem i was unable to find a good position for the injection. Thanks

If you're talking about built in reverb, I'd put it right between your FX loop return and the input cap to your V2B stage. I wouldn't go higher than, say, 470k for the direct signal/reverb bypass resistor or you'll lose too much signal through the voltage divider. 220k might be a good place to start. You may also need to play with the mix resistor coming from the reverb level pot to get the correct max reverb level.

I am installing my on board reverbs after the last preamp gain stage just prior to the LTPI.

Essentially in both the Tweed Overdrive and Tweed BluezMeister, I have a passive effects loop going into the LTPI after the preamp and OD gain stages. I use the outboard FX-Reverb in that passive effects loop.

I am happy with reverb insertion just prior to the LTPI. My preference is not to overdrive the reverb, but instead to reverb the overdrive. Each to his own.

With respect, Tubenit

Thanks Guys, there seems to be a few options here and all can be easily inserted. I think the plan is to do the build and try the different positions. Thanks
