I would'nt realy call it drinkin,

like I said he did'nt drink much, not that I saw. It was a blues bar and he was just havin a few while listening to who ever was playin those nights. One night after the bar closed, 4/5 in the morning, he went out to breakfest with a bunch of us who worked at the club/bar, including the owner. You never would have known he was'nt a "regular" if not for his Irish brok. (is that how you spell it?) No tall tails of the road, no bragging about himself, none. We all talked about the old Chgo. blues men, how he liked Chgo. stuff like that, he talked some about how he first heard the blues, how it was hard to get the records in Ireland in the early 60's. It's been a long time so it's hard to remember, but nothing stands out in my memory, sorry. Every body seemed to like him. Out side of his gifting of talent for music, he was just a regular guy. Like I said, after seeing him on stage, you might think he'd be kinda "wild" but I/we never saw that. I read the book that his bass player Jerry Macavoy wrote about him and that's what he said too, and he would know.
Oh , my buddy, Steve Arvey, used to go down to Maxwell St. (it was in the Blues Brothers movie, were John Lee was playin and Areatha and Matt Murphy had the grill) and buy old Dano wreaks for parts. On Rorys last day in town for the tour we went down to say goodby to him and my friend gave him several bodies/necks. Rory wanted to pay him but Steve would'nt hear of it.
Now I did get hammered with Bonnie Raits bass player and drummer once,

but that's another post/story.
Brad
