Speaker apparently glued to cab
« on: June 09, 2011, 09:13:47 am »
Hi everyone!

A couple of years ago I bought a new 1x12'' cabinet loaded with a Celestion G12H30 heritage.
Now that I want to use this speaker into another cab I'm having serious problems. I unscrewed the four screws that hold the speaker in place, but the speaker does not move. It seems like it's glued to the cabinet somehow.

Did that happen to any of you before? How could I take the speaker appart without damaging it?
Searched the web and this forum, but could not find the answer.

Hope someone could help me with that!!
Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,
Francisco Pérez

Hi again,

I finally solved my problem. Pulled the speaker really hard without luck several times so decided to use a hairdryer to heat the contact surface between speaker and cabinet.
After a few minutes of heating, I pulled the speaker again and it finally moved.

Nice. That was a great idea.

Glad it worked out.
