Hoffman stand alone reverb
« on: June 24, 2011, 09:46:14 am »
Has any one built the Hoffman stand alone reverb unit. I have a revibe unit now, I was thinking of a Hoffman stand alone, It seemed like a simple inexpensive project to tackle. If so is there a part list available,

Thanks John t

Yes, it's in Doug's " The Tube amp Library of information".

Look at the top of the main page, go in and scroll down to the list of projects.

Schematic, layout and parts list are there.

Willabe, thanks for the help. It appears that there are two Hoffman reverb projects. The Hoffman 6g15, and farther down the project page a stand alone reverb using 2 12ax7,s and a 12at7. That later of the two is one  I was thinking about.

Yes, I built one for myself and another for my brother.  Both sound terrific.  Very quiet and as much lush surf sound as you can stand.  I used the 3 spring in mine and love it.  I run mine on just a bit for pretty much everything we play and then crank up the dwell as needed for some surf tunes we do.  I highly recommend building one as they put everything else out there to shame.

Talsmag which one did you build ?. The 6g15 or 2 x12ax7 with 1 12at7.

The Hoffman stand alone reverb unit with a 12AT7 driver is not a project.
That's the reverb units I built and sold a long time ago.
I don't have any plans or parts list except the layout diagram you have already seen.

They were very cool sounding and had a ton of splash.
Not as much as a 6G15, but more than most people need.

The 6G15 project is a stand alone Fender type reverb unit.
