Deluxe Reverb Question
« on: December 29, 2011, 02:00:40 pm »
Hi, Folks,

Looking to make input 2 on my Deluxe Reverb the same as input 1; I don't want input 2 to be low gain anymore.  The problem I'm having is that when daisy chaining from this amp to my other I'm losing a lot of highs.  Have opened the amp up and see three resistors but I'm not very savvy at this sort of thing.  Hoping some one is willing to talk to me about what to do.  I understand how to drain caps and take necessary precautions prior to getting into the amp.  Thanks for any insight.

Aaron

You'll probably have to use a different brand of cable to connect the amps.

I doubt you have a volume drop related to the wiring of the input jacks. When both jacks are being used, the switching on the jacks is such there is no volume difference between them. The half-signal drop only happens when you use the #2 input with nothing plugged in input #1.

So if you have a loss of highs, it is probably due to cable capacitance. Use some low-capacitance cable, like George L's, Klotz, or Monster.
