I too have just completed a Deluxe Reverb build and fortunately mine is very quiet. (probably good luck more than anything as it was my first build).

I don't know why the hum goes away after 30 mins but I do suggest that you think about following the original wiring layout as this will have a large bearing on how quiet the amp is. I followed Leo's wiring using pics of original DR's and the wiring layout diagram that you also have.

I know one thing that I read was that the heater wires should be twisted tightly and kept away from the other wiring.
Good luck. PS. The pics below were taken before I completed the heater wiring to V1,2 & 3.

hi

i am sorry, my english is not good. my meaning is that i use 30 mins to fix the amp. so it is no hum noise now. and i also follow leo layout to build this amp.

and your deluxe reverb is very nice too. BTW, the sozo bluemodded cap sound very good. and what brand of transformer you use?

and i have question now,

this deluxe reverb is my friend, not mine. i help him build it. but i own fender PTP twin reverb. i think i like deluxe reverb more. and i use 6V6GT in twin reverb?

Good that your build is free of hum noise now.

I used Classic Tone transformers from Magnetic Components.

Regarding using 6V6 in place of 6L6 I will let others here more experienced than I answer this question.

Best regards

Rob

Many old Blackface Twins and really early silverface twins I have messed with were running around 420VDC on the power tube plates. That is about what Deluxe Reverbs should run. Given that, running 6V6's (biased correctly) into an 8ohm load should be ok. However, many people think that Deluxe Reverbs were running 6V6's on the edge on insanity.
After 1970 or so, the voltages on the transformers went up on the twins. At that point, 420vdc jumped up to around 450vdc. So, if 420 is considered to be the edge of insanity, then 450 should be well inside the Charlie Manson zone.

All really nice builds. kwm488, looks like you've come quite a ways since fixing that Bassman quite a long time ago! Congratulations on a successful amp. I love the blackfaces, they got such a cool tone, I've been on the dark side with the Marshall circuits so long its hard for me to go back though...   I have been straying though, actually looking at Trainwreck circuits now haha...

Regards guys,

Don

hi Rev D

you remember me? yes, i post a lot of bassman question before. that time, it is my first build amp. the story is my friend help me build it. but he don't care me even the amp have problem. he just answer me this is the best he can do. i get a lot of hum noise that time. so i need to learn and fix it by myself that time. i don't know any amp build that time. i just use my build computer and do hobby sense to build my first bassman. after i learn a lot here, i build Marshall JCM800, Plexi, JTM45 , Bluebreaker , Fender Twin Reverb , Deluxe Reverb, Reverb Unit and Bassman.

i feel very success this time. because i just get hum noise problem and fix it of half hr. now, it work perfect. please listen the demo video here. the sound amazing. i own Fender vintage 1978 silverface Twin Reverb. but i mod it to Blackface, recap to SOZO , change all wire to Western Electronic Cloth wire, change to MM OT. i like it, but after compare to this Deluxe Reverb, i sure i like Deluxe Reverb more. my friend answer me that because of 6V6GT sound sweet than 6L6GC. small watt power tube sound sweet normally.

i have two question, can i use 6V6GT in Twin Reverb. i am afraid the OT is not correct for 6V6GT, and the PT is not correct too, i am afraid the B+ too high.

second question, my friend tell me that old diode always have voltage leak. the best diode is vintage gold motorola. please recommend me what model of motorola diode , because they have a lot of model

Thank

i think the B+ in your twin is too high for 6V6GT.
don't worry too much about those diode's. don't fix it if it ain't broken.
