Bumble B+/Solow Watt ECL84

This is my take on tubenits' Solow Watt ECL84. Love this bedroom amp. I can dial in breakup from lite dirt to almost endless sustain, all at resonable volume levels. Very well balanced and clear overdrive. I love the fact that a set of NOS tubes can be had on fleabay for under $20. This is a fairly simple build and at a cost under $150 it's a alot of tone/tones for the buck. Highly recomended. Thanks for your work on this design Tubenit, Jeff

Very nice work JBP. I have a friend who owns a "School of Rock" nearby and I want to donate a nice tube amp to the school. He likes the "Brownsound" so I am looking for a design that runs low B+. Sounds like your build would be a nice option for me.

GREAT job,nice and neat.I've been delayed in getting mine built and this amp seems to be turning out to be a winner  . I've have just discovered the water slide decal as well and makes the face plates much easier to make. I use a coloured vinyl with a sticky back then the decals and a clear vinyl over the top, easy. JBP, the sw. marked as BOOST is that the one that engages the 1uf cap to the V2a cathode as i was not sure that this was it purpose   and did you build it as per T's schem. Thanks for the great pics

Thanks Timbo. Yea I followed T's latest schemo to the T. You are correct about the boost switch. It gives it a little kick, not huge, so I labeled it "boost" as per T's layout.
